General Information

  • ​History: Our Department of Logistics Management was opened within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Iğdır University with the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education dated 28.05.2020 and numbered 75850160-301.01.02-E.32144 and started to accept its first students from the 2020-2021 academic year. We do not have a graduate program yet.
  • Department Program Outcomes: Our students who graduate from our department; have technical and academic knowledge about logistics and logistics. Have knowledge of business, operations and processes related to logistics activities. Learn the concepts and methods related to logistics management. In addition, it comprehends national and international legal regulations related to logistics and access channels to current information. Knows the legal and ethical professional conditions required by logistics activities.
  • Language / Type of Education: The language of education of our program is Turkish. Although the type of education is formal, there are both face-to-face and distance courses. Also, our program is open to international students.
  • Infrastructure Facilities: Our department has lecture halls and lecture halls equipped with smart boards. Conference hall, canteen and cafeteria are also available in and around our classroom building.

Double Major / Minor Programs

Double Major Programme: It provides students with the opportunity to obtain a bachelor's degree in another department of their interest in addition to their main department. In this programme, students can complete the courses of two different departments and obtain a diploma in both fields.

​Minor Programme: It allows the student to take a certain number of courses in a field of interest other than his/her major. Students who complete the minor programme are awarded an official certificate in this field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate diploma.

​Exchange Programs

It offers students the opportunity to study at another university in Turkey or abroad for a certain period of time. Through these programmes, students have the opportunity to get to know different cultures, improve their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programmes include Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.

  • Logistics and Distribution Companies: They can work in the fields of storage, distribution and transportation. These companies manage the movement of products in the supply chain and provide optimization.
  • Supply Chain Management: They can work in all stages of the supply chain in the manufacturing and service sectors. They manage material flow, production planning and inventory management.
  • Manufacturing Sector: They can manage processes from the supply of raw materials to the shipment of products in production facilities.
  • Retail Sector: They can work in inventory management, logistics operations and supply chain processes of stores.
  • E-Commerce: They can manage the logistics and distribution processes of online stores and ensure that orders are delivered correctly and on time.
  • International Trade: They can manage import and export processes, work in customs transactions, international transportation and documentation.
  • Transportation Companies: They can work in companies that carry out road, sea, air or railway transportation. They can work in the planning and optimization of transportation processes.
  • Consultancy Firms: They can provide consultancy in the field of logistics and supply chain management and guide companies to improve their processes.
  • Public Sector: They can work in public institutions, logistics management and supply chain processes, such as organizing and supervising. They can make a career as academic staff.
  • Project Management: They can work in the planning and execution of logistics projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time and on budget.
